90 Days ‘til Camp!

It's an exciting time for On River Time as we celebrate our 10 year anniversary and are still pinching ourselves over being named the national "Charity of the Year" by the PGA TOUR Champions.

We are 90 days away from taking children from four children's homes to On River Time camps. This once in a lifetime trip is designed to let the children know they are "worth it"! Their worth is not defined by the painful experiences of their past. Please pray for these kids who will be joining us this year. We trust that God will move in their lives in a mighty way while at camp.

HOUSTON, WE HAVE A QUORUM!

Last week we held our annual in-person board meeting in Houston. Though On River Time is based in Birmingham, our Board of Directors come from across the country and even Canada. We hold board calls every other month with an annual in-person meeting every February. However because of Covid, this was the first time for us to gather together since early 2020. We are so thankful for these esteemed men and women who shepherd us so well. Learn more about our Board of Directors HERE.

VISIT TO STILL CREEK RANCH, TX

After our board meeting, we invited any board members who were able to join us for a visit to one of the homes we serve, Still Creek Ranch outside College Station, Texas.

Still Creek Director, James Inmon, invited us to have dinner in one of the girls homes on his campus. We loved seeing kids who attended On River Time camp in the past, while meeting new ones who will join us this year.
The girls were so happy and seem so well adjusted, which speaks volumes to the environment Still Creek provides. James shared that one of the girls had been in 14 placements within two years before arriving at the ranch.

The next day we toured their school and visited a couple of the boys' homes (most were out of town for basketball playoffs. Go Colts!) It was so touching to see pictures and river rocks from On River Time camp in one of the boys' bedrooms.

Any day we can visit the homes we serve and spend time with the kids is a great day!

We are entering our Spring Push months, as we prepare to head back to camp. In addition to On River Time camps, we provide college and career scholarships, and have been expanding our year-round programming through SOAR, our life skills courses to help prepare the older kids for success as whole, independent adults.

Please consider how you would like to invest in the lives of these amazing young people.

You’re seeing complete differences and trajectory for their life and we’re just so grateful for the opportunity that each and every one of our kids gets with On River Time.
