“You never get a second chance to make a first impression."
-Andrew Grant

Do you remember your very first job interview? How nervous you were?
Chances are, if you're a parent, you teach your kids to look adults in the eyes, smile, and give a firm handshake. These 'soft skills' will help them to make their best first impression one day.

We've been working to make sure the kids we serve living at group children's homes have the same opportunities in life. It's part of our SOAR programming, (Success, Opportunity, Attitude, Resiliency).

We've had a busy few weeks leading SOAR!

We hosted etiquette classes for the high school students at Big Oak Ranch. Emily Post certified instructor, Suzy Johnson, taught the kids about introductions and dining etiquette. We concluded with a catered dinner where they could practice what they learned. Many thanks to Suzy and our wonderful volunteers who graciously served.

We also traveled to Bryan, Texas to teach job interview tips and conduct timed and scored mock interviews for the older teens at Still Creek Ranch

Your support of On River Time helps to provide this type of life-affirming programming to children of abuse and neglect, in addition to our fly fishing camps that take place in early June.

Thank you for giving these young people the same opportunities in life that you would want for your own children. They are worth it! We are so grateful for your support.
