Our First “Stay and SOAR”!

Big Oak Ranch's "Ascend" Students with Director, Kelli Croyle

Our first ever Stay and SOAR at Pursell Farms was a tremendous success!
We hosted college-aged students from Big Oak Ranch (AL), Palmer Home (MS), and Still Creek Ranch (TX).

Stay and SOAR (Success, Opportunity, Attitude, Resilience) is a brand new retreat for these older students who have aged out of their children's homes. The weekend was packed full with fun activities courtesy of Orvis at Pursell Farms, along with useful information like job interview skills and etiquette to help prepare them to flourish as independent adults.

We are so grateful for our two incredible guest speakers:
Liz Huntley, an attorney, child advocate, and author of "More Than a Bird" shared her personal story overcoming horrific abuse. Her words were inspiring and unforgettable.
Liz will be our keynote speaker at this year's "Casting Hope", details below.

Thank you as well to Gianetta Jones, "Chief People Person" (HR) at Coca Cola United, who shared excellent tips for our students on resume writing and job interviews.

Our founder, Steve Davis, shared his personal story of overcoming and passed along an important lesson on patience and resilience.

The students had a wonderful time of fellowship getting to know one another. And the staff at Pursell Farms couldn't have been more gracious and welcoming to them.

We are so grateful for your support! You are making experiences like this possible for these incredible young people. You are helping to change lives and cast hope.
Thank you!
