Casting Hope - Thank You!
Every Child Deserves a Champion
And that's exactly what you are!!
Thank you for making Casting Hope, 2021 the most successful ever! This was our first time doing a hybrid event. We had supporters joining us in person at The Club in Birmingham, AL as well as joining us virtually from across the country.
Because of your support, we are able to continue to expand our life-affirming programming to impact even more kids! Your partnership and generosity lets them know they aren't define by their past, they have a future filled with HOPE.
From all of us at On River Time, we are so grateful to have you as a partner! Thank you for helping to break the cycle of abuse and neglect for the kids we serve as well as future generations.
If you missed Casting Hope this year, you missed what many are describing as the most incredible speech they've ever heard. Here is a one minute clip from our keynote speaker, Liz Huntley, who is an attorney and child advocate. She shared her personal story of overcoming abuse and the crucial role caring adults and life-affirming programming like On River Time had on her life.

We had many special guests in attendance including the reigning Miss Alabama Lauren Bradford and directors from Still Creek Ranch and Palmer Home. We also had representatives and kids from Big Oak Ranch who attended On River Time camps.
We honored Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum, who sadly was killed just weeks prior in Afghanistan. Rylee attended the very first On River Time camp at The Lodge at Palisades Creek. At Casting Hope, we announced the creation of a scholarship in his honor to present to future campers.
On a lighter note, artist, Shannon Harris, painted during the event a beautiful piece for the live auction, "Paint Me a Birmingham", while overlooking the city skyline. We are grateful for her as well as our auctioneer, Guin Robinson, and the Taylor Hicks Band for making this year's event so special. A special thank you to our board of directors, junior board, and volunteers. To all of you who attended, whether in person or virtually and to our sponsors, THANK YOU!
