Hope is Always What You Do
The above quote by Ann Voskamp sums up 2020 for so many of us. In spite of the difficulties and uncertainties of this year, we continue to press forward in hope.
Perhaps no one better demonstrates this than the kids we serve. They come from backgrounds of pain, heartache, neglect, and abuse. And yet when they arrive at their new homes, (Big Oak Ranch, Still Creek Ranch, Palmer Home, and Homes of Hope) they learn to trust again. They gain a new family and learn that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them and will never leave them. This is the basis of hope.
It is our privilege to come along side these children's homes and echo this beautiful message. We call it “casting hope”, as we provide life changing experiences and devoted mentorship that demonstrates to these kids that they have worth and value. They are loved. They have hope for a brighter future.
This year has been unusual. But we have pressed forward and in so doing, developed new ways to serve. We will always look to 2020 as the year that, while forcing us to pivot, actually opened new doors to expand our programming. As we look ahead to 2021, we are prayerfully anticipating the return of our On River Time camps as well as the continuation and expansion of these new life skills classes for recent graduates, and hopefully, a camp just for them. We will also continue providing college and career scholarships.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your support. And we humbly ask for you to continue to be a champion of hope, supporting the work of On River Time. You may even consider providing a year end gift today. Your donations, your advocacy, and your prayers are what make our mission possible.
We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a new year filled with HOPE!
“When you don't know what to do, HOPE is always what you do.”
