How did you get where you are today? Who gave you the life lessons that helped to ‘pack your toolkit’?
Kids of abuse and neglect deserve EVERY opportunity in life you and I have had…the same opportunities we strive to provide our own kids. Through your support, we are working to change the trajectory of kids' lives and break the cycle of abuse and neglect.
We just completed resume preparation, interview training, and mock interviews for the college sophomores from Big Oak Ranch's Ascend program. We are also making plans to host the college-age students from three of our children's homes this July at Pursell Farms in Alabama for our inaugural SOAR retreat—an acronym which stands for Success, Opportunity, Attitude, and Resilience. Our goal is to partner with the incredible children's homes we serve to help these young people grow to become healed, successful, independent adults.
We are also six weeks away from our all-expense paid On River Time camps for middle and high school students from Big Oak Ranch (AL), Palmer Home for Children (MS), Still Creek Ranch (TX), and Homes of Hope for Children (MS). These life-affirming experiences are all designed to empower children who have experienced so much hardship in life, to realize they have worth and value, and to develop a healthy sense of who they are—Imago Dei, made in the image of God.
